Free From What?
When asked to click on the answer that best described your state of mind, you selected the one where you were a self-described "loser". To have freedom in Christ is to have freedom from the love of the desire to win, the love of the desire to be the best, the love of the desire to compare yourself to others, the love of sin. When you are set free from your love of sin and self, then you will begin to have freedom indeed!
Jesus pointed out what we all know to be true; how easy it is to love the people who love us. But He went on to command a radical truth of God; that we need to love our enemies, lending to them while hoping for nothing in return!
Now, how can a man love his enemies while he's trying to defeat them with all of his heart? How can you do good to those who hate you, lending your things to them without wanting any payment, while they are your opponents and you are trying to win at the game you're both playing?
You can't!
What About Me And My Rights?
You've been calling yourself a loser. How is it that you're still concerned with your "rights"?
All things being equal, what if you were transported from where you are right now into a totally different culture, somewhere in the "third world", would you still consider yourself a loser? Or would your current financial status help to elevate your opinion of yourself so that you would begin to feel superior to all the poverty stricken people around you? Regardless of why you think you're a loser, would your greater wealth suddenly substitute your self loathing with human pride?
If so friend, you'd be like nearly every other person on this planet. The desire we have as unsaved sinners is to defeat our enemies, not love them. So if push comes to shove and we see a way that we can justify ourselves by being superior to other human beings (having more money is one very common way), we wind up behaving more like animals, and our God-given compassion will give way to our survival of the fittest, sin nature.
What Is This Freedom?
When the dust settles the freedom that Christ delivers is a freedom from self; in this case, yourself. Self can only bring death. Think about it, what's your best hope? Maybe become a billionaire and have everything you ever dreamed of having? Then what's waiting for you?
Death. Dying will be the only reward you can offer yourself. And Jesus told of the second death, which will be much worse than the first; for it is eternal. It goes on and on and on, and it awaits every person who rejects Jesus Christ.
When you trust Jesus Christ for your salvation, you're actually trading in yourself (which is death) for life eternal in Him! Jesus Christ defeated death; He is risen! That mortal enemy of yours has been defeated eternally in Christ. Which means you no longer have to try so hard to defeat all your smaller enemies, while fighting in vain to escape the clutches of your mortal enemy, any longer! When you place your faith in Jesus Christ your primary enemy has been defeated forever.
You will have been born again into eternal life!
