I Prayed A Prayer... Nothing Changed
So you prayed a prayer one time in your life, maybe a long time ago, where you asked Jesus into your heart and you were told if you really meant it, then you were saved? The problem is, you say, ever since then your life has really never changed.
Do you play by the rules and keep your nose clean, obeying all the laws, paying your taxes, saving your money; but still find in those quiet moments, when you're honest with yourself, that you really have never changed?
Have you found that you keep yourself from telling your non-church friends, or associates, anything about your religion, let alone about sin and Jesus? Have you ever taken a step back to survey your religious situation, only to be further confused since as far as you can see, you seem like a good person?
Do you make excuses for your mistakes and rarely, if ever, even really see yourself as sinful?
Paul, whom God chose to write the majority of the New Testament, referred to himself in writing to Timothy, as the chief of sinners, or the worst of sinners. (1 Timothy 1: 15) Take note that Paul did not say of sinners, he was the chief or worst. Paul identified himself as the worst sinner and spoke in present tense, not past. That's how sinful Paul saw his own sin before a holy God.
How do you compare to Paul?
I'm Not Perfect... But I Am Pretty Good
Friend, there could be nothing more important than your actual relationship with Jesus Christ. Your goodness is not the determining factor in your salvation. Your acts of religion aren't going to save you, and as you've seen, they lack any true transformation power with yourself and unbelieving persons around you. Your church attendance, your volunteer hours, your relationships, all the people who think you're the greatest; none of those things will bring you life eternal in Christ Jesus.
At some point maybe you bought into the lie that your life example of good deeds would lead people to believing in Christ, and so you grew proud in your religion, and gave up on the notion of the gospel being alive in your life, and being preached. Maybe you hold your head high when you're around sinners and take pride in yourself because, you don't behave like them?
If you think that your Christianity might be focused on you and your religion, then come clean friend and run to Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ came to save sinners, not condemn them! But first you must see yourself as sinful, or else the cross will remain just as foolish to you as someone else who claims to be an atheist.
No GMO's... Just Jesus
Genetically Modified Organizations do not represent Jesus Christ or the body of Christ. Jesus Christ is a living Savior; and those whom He has saved are a living, organic, body, that goes way beyond the institution of any one church.
Jesus Christ is alive, and He lives in the church; those sinners who believe in Him for the forgiveness of their sins, unto salvation! Those who are believing in Christ need Him everyday to survive in this fallen world. Those sinners who have had Christ's righteousness imputed to them by God's grace.
Jesus Christ was never an item on a religious to-do list. Jesus Christ, and the gospel, is life for the sinner! Jesus Christ is bread for those who hunger now! Jesus Christ is water for those who thirst now! Jesus Christ is truth for every liar! Jesus Christ is balm for those who are wounded! Jesus Christ is courage for the lowly coward!
Instead of the stench of a man-made religion which only brings death, Jesus is the organic Savior who will bring you life! Continue on, and take a journey through the following parable to discover how Jesus is not a GMO, but a Savior who is 100% organic and life giving; that you may have true life in Him, eternal.
